I have been saying for at least a decade that the media is conservatism’s and America’s real enemy. The media acted in such a biased and corrupt way in 2008, I was certain that the spell was broken and that the media would be harmless in 2012. Boy, was I wrong. Since the 2012 presidential election debacle, the rallying cry for conservatives ought to have been “No more Candy Crowleys.” But it wasn’t (read more)....

Despite anti-gunnite talking points, most law abiding gun owners are not against background checks. We have no problem with making sure that the person attempting to purchase a firearm is not a bad person. But, do background checks actually stop Bad Guys from getting guns? For the most part, no.

A few years after the Civil War as the nation started upon its long road toward reconciliation, rebuilding, and healing the wife of one of the war´s union generals noticed the touching devotion of Confederate widows, wives and their children as each year they came together to place flowers and little flags at the graves of their fallen. Mary Simmerson Cunningham Logan was so moved by the devotion she witnessed that she urged her husband, Illinois General John A. "Blackjack" Logan, to look into creating what was to become Memorial Day.
