There are no survey statistics available on the appeal of audio-visual courses entitled “The Joy of Snow-Shoveling” or “The Joy of Rolling Around on the Floor of a Chicken Coop” but my intuition is that they would have limited commercial prospects. “The Joy of Mathematics” may do better, but surely not much better. We all know someone who has experienced the joy of Fibonacci Numbers (don’t we?) but we also know many more who have agonized over high school Algebra, ground their teeth in frustration while computing their income tax liabilities, dodged the dismal drill of balancing their check books
