What exactly is Michelle Obama doing that requires her to take so many vacations? They’re up to what, 16 vacations in 3 1/2 years? That’s better than a vacation every 3 months. Is there anybody else alive who takes this much vacation time and spends this much money while she does it?

Black Boxes, or “mandatory event data recorders” will now be installed in your “new” car in 2015, they will record your mileage, locations, and speeds before and during accidents. Of course, it takes no electronic genius to imagine this information being enlarged to provide the government with continuous information concerning you and your transportation, and there is some speculation that the law will become inclusive of all licensed cars since the technology is rather simple and doesn’t require the advanced technology of computerized systems. The bill has been passed by the Senate in March and is expected to be rubber

As far as race-baiter Roland Martin of CNN is concerned, America is guilty until proven innocent. Guilty of racism as some sort of original sin, one that can never be washed away by either deeds or absolution.

Recently, while watching some Catholic sniping and squabbling amid these internet comboxes wherein I dwell and make my living, I noted a particularly dramatic note of victimhood being voiced in one channel and fervent, mustachio-twirling glee emanating from another, and I suddenly realized why opera is an art-form created and first-sustained in Catholic cultures. We do love our arias and our grand, sweeping themes.
The issue I had been monitoring was the sort of simple doctrinal rumpus that has become so depressingly common to Catholic engagement online, but like backstage tra-la’s, it was a fine warm-up for the sustained noise that

A great controversy has erupted over a National Journal article by Michael Hirsh entitled, “The Post Al Qaida Era.” I think this is an important issue there is absolutely nothing new here that couldn’t have been seen—as I’ll show in a moment—five years ago.
The Obama Administration has long thought along the following lines:
Al-Qaida is an evil and terrible organization. It attacked America on September 11, 2001. It is a sworn enemy of the United States and it uses terrorism. Consequently, to protect the American homeland, al-Qaida must be destroyed. Our “war on terror” is then a war on al-Qaida.

First Lady Obama presumes that her husband’s Supreme Court Nominees will protect political rights not enumerated in the Constitution. She made this remarkable claim at Democrat fundraisers by stressing that Sotomayo and Kagan are indeed political appointees and can be counted on to protect the right to “Love whomever we choose” and “the right privacy”. This mysterious “Privacy” right is presumably a reference to Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, but these nebulous terms are often invoked to mean anything Democrat strategists want them to mean at a later date.

Despite living in the "fishbowl" of the White House, despite requiring secret service protection everywhere she goes, and even despite hearing her husband constantly criticized for his awful performance as president of the United States---despite all that and more First Lady Michelle Obama must be a very happy woman.
Two news items released yesterday made it clear.

This is a tough one for me. On one hand, I don’t like rude people in theaters (so much so that I once was the catalyst for a fist fight at the midnight showing of Star Wars Clone Wars where someone was nearly stabbed in the jugular with a broken beer bottle. Sweet home, Chicago!) On the other hand, I hardly ever go to theaters anymore so rude people frequenting the movies have no effect on me. I stopped going shortly after the melee at Star Wars but it wasn’t the fat lip.
It irks me that I have to miss

As I wrote the other day in AmSpec, the Obama regime is attempting hide its deep Medicare Advantage cuts with am $8 billion “demonstration project” that will prop up its benefits and keep down its co-pays until after the election. The GAO and MedPAC have publically called for HHS to shut down the transparent fraud but, as you will see in this video, Commissar Sebelius says nothing doing.

For some unknown reason, the state Democrat Party of Georgia's Political Director, one Ali Rashad Richey, is a man with a long arrest record and no one seems the last bit worried about it in the Peach State -- neither politicians nor the media. This man's arrests are for such offenses as burglary, assault, battery, driving offenses, and violation of probation. In fact he's been arrested at least 12 times in the last decade.

"You know Marx had a theory. So did Engels. So did Stalin. That theory - that people would work as hard for a collective as they would for themselves - ended up killing about 50 million people in forced starvations, executions, purges and labor gulags.
Mao had a theory, more or less the same thing, that probably killed another 50 million or so, sacrificed to that same blood thirsty god.

To date, I haven’t been paying that much attention to the Obama administration’s Big Government effort to keep America’s young down on the farms, now that they’ve seen TV. Or can see TV . . . or should see TV, since the Obama administration is barring farm kids from actually working on the farm:
