Earlier in the week a video surfaced on Youtube of Al Armendariz, head of the EPA office in Dallas, saying that he and his agency planned to "crucify" any business that crosses them. The video caused a lot of consternation on Capitol Hill as well as recriminations for the EPA. But by Friday the video had been pulled by Youtube because of complaints from the man that originally made the video. Turns out he's an extreme environut connected with the gay community.

The Tea Party and Libertarians have been fighting Crony Capitalism for at least 3 years now. Some even longer. It’s not that Tea Party/Libertarian leaning people want others to be taxed at a higher rate or be regulated out of existence. It’s the influence of Crony Capitalism on policy and uses of elected officials to gain advantages single voters have no chance of getting that is the difference. Let us face facts, who is a politician going to be most influenced by:

That's the question asked by RC2 at Wheat & Weeds after watching Congressman Trey Gowdy of South Carolina completely befuddle Kathleen Sebelius on foundational questions. Her responses are embarrasing. One thing this does point out is that this, once it comes before the Supreme Court... and it will, should completely be overturned and I hope, when it happens, that the Supreme Court is unmerciful in its judgment as to the arrogance and the overreach of those who brought us to this point.

New CIA Memo Reveals Admiral, Not Obama, In Charge of bin Laden Raid; No "Gutsy Call" Was Ever Made

...The problem is that the so-called "gutsy call" never existed. Putting aside the fact that any President with Mr. Obama's intelligence information would have made the same call, a new memo released yesterday that Mr. Obama did not make the "final" call, nor was it terribly gutsy. Instead, it shows that the President merely authorized the possibility for going to Abbottabad... and left everything else up to Admiral William McRaven.

The experience of watching the space shuttle Enterprise circle New York City on its way to JFK Airport can be described in many different ways. One of the words viewers most frequently used about the sight was “bittersweet”. As Enterprise piggybacked its way on a 747 to its final landing, Americans turned out in large numbers to view the flight. The predominant mood was nostalgia.

Is Barack Obama cool? Compared to say Barney Frank or Mitch McConnell, sure. Compared to people who are genuinely cool like say, Tim Tebow, Brad Pitt, Dwayne Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Chuck Liddell, etc., etc.? No, he’s a bad joke. So, when Crossroads concedes the fact that Obama is cool, it’s making a huge mistake.

What exactly is Michelle Obama doing that requires her to take so many vacations? They’re up to what, 16 vacations in 3 1/2 years? That’s better than a vacation every 3 months. Is there anybody else alive who takes this much vacation time and spends this much money while she does it?

Black Boxes, or “mandatory event data recorders” will now be installed in your “new” car in 2015, they will record your mileage, locations, and speeds before and during accidents. Of course, it takes no electronic genius to imagine this information being enlarged to provide the government with continuous information concerning you and your transportation, and there is some speculation that the law will become inclusive of all licensed cars since the technology is rather simple and doesn’t require the advanced technology of computerized systems. The bill has been passed by the Senate in March and is expected to be rubber

Recently, while watching some Catholic sniping and squabbling amid these internet comboxes wherein I dwell and make my living, I noted a particularly dramatic note of victimhood being voiced in one channel and fervent, mustachio-twirling glee emanating from another, and I suddenly realized why opera is an art-form created and first-sustained in Catholic cultures. We do love our arias and our grand, sweeping themes. The issue I had been monitoring was the sort of simple doctrinal rumpus that has become so depressingly common to Catholic engagement online, but like backstage tra-la’s, it was a fine warm-up for the sustained noise that

A great controversy has erupted over a National Journal article by Michael Hirsh entitled, “The Post Al Qaida Era.” I think this is an important issue there is absolutely nothing new here that couldn’t have been seen—as I’ll show in a moment—five years ago. The Obama Administration has long thought along the following lines: Al-Qaida is an evil and terrible organization. It attacked America on September 11, 2001. It is a sworn enemy of the United States and it uses terrorism. Consequently, to protect the American homeland, al-Qaida must be destroyed. Our “war on terror” is then a war on al-Qaida.
