Best of the Web posts a 2004 interview in which Obama defines sin, not along traditional Christian or Muslim lines, but along self-referential lines. *** The President, when he made that statement about the measure of sin being his own values, might have had in the back of his head the unspoken qualifier that his values are "Christian." I doubt it, though, because I have found the definitive doctrine of Obama's faith. Joan Allen, in the 2000 movie The Contender, recites the doctrinal beliefs of what she calls a church based in "this very chapel of democracy." I think her

Entlitlement, taken to new lows:
Free Botox and laser hair removal, free chemical peels and anti-cellulite treatments may at first seem shockingly frivolous in a country like Brazil – which, despite phenomenal economic growth in recent years that has lifted millions out of extreme poverty, still battles with diseases such as tuberculosis and dengue.
But the philosophy behind the more than 220 clinics across Brazil that treat people like Penha and thousands of maids, receptionists, waitresses and others is simple...

It’s great being 20 years old, isn’t it? Well, that’s what we always tell ourselves when we get older. Everything back then was the “good old days.” But, if you’re honest about it, you’ll have to admit it was never quite as good as it seems in your head.

It’s long been a dirty secret among the Warmist crowd that there needs to be serious population reduction among mankind. Like with every other Warmist “solution” to anthropogenic global warming, they want Someone Else to bear the burden for Warmist notions, which is how we hear about the “pressing need” for “family planning” programs in developing nations

Nothing against the Huffington Post, since I write for them occasionally, but the sort of bitter, politically obsessed man-hating harpies who’d take this kind of advice wouldn’t be caught dead dating a Republican anyway.

Three and a half years into the Obama Presidency it seems the weak excuse for a recovery that the progressives have been bragging about is getting even weaker.
On Friday the Commerce Department reported that first quarter annualized GDP growth was 2.2% down 0.8 of a percentage point from the previous quarter which was a paltry 3%. Keep in mind the 2.2% was merely the first cut at the numbers, generally the Commerce Will issue one or two revisions (downward) as more information becomes available.
The reported growth not only represents a possible slowdown, it indicates the economy is not growing fast

President Obama's campaign on Monday released a seven-minute video...

Is Michelle Obama considering a Hillary Clinton move and running for the White House after her husband's term(s) are done? But the current first lady, who's playing a very active if little-noticed fundraising role across the country this cycle, sent mixed signals about her own future the other day when answering questions from some children visiting the White House.

In order to understand where someone may be heading, sometimes it makes sense to understand where they came from. In the case of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, you can see those roots in everything he does.
Benzion Netanyahu, Bibi's dad was a noted scholar of the history of Jews in Spain. He knows deeply the horrors that tends to happen to Jews when they don't have their own state.
Benzion learned the "Zionist ropes" as an assistant to the Zionist philosopher Zeev Jabotinsky. And in Jabotinsky you can see one of the key reasons why you hear Bibi insist on the

For the Talking Heads on CNBC and some of the other business news sources all things point to the same thing...buy stocks!
Earnings season is in full swing and it appears that the majority of firms that report are in someway beating the average estimates of the analysts who follow them.
To me that would indicate one of two things. Either the analysts, like economists, are really not very good at doing their jobs or else they don't really do the job at all and simply take the guidance the company provides and use that to forecast results...

Let me sum up the situation regarding U.S. policy toward revolutionary Islamism like this. A man threatens, “Surrender or I’ll kill you!” The victim surrenders and then boasts of how he put an end to violence by offering an alternative, peaceful “channel” of expression!
Michael Hirsh has responded to my critique of his article. Amazingly, yet typical of our era, he didn’t engage with a single—not a single—idea I presented. It’s clear that Hirsh knows nothing about the Middle East and so is merely arguing based on unsuitable analogies, a lack of knowledge about history, and a blind faith in “experts”

We’ve got a federal debt problem, and our political leaders are not taking it seriously. Granted, Paul Ryan was ready to step up and give us a budget that will eventually get us back on the path to fiscal solvency, but even his suggestions were promptly scorched by our president, whose own budget proposal was such an excellent idea that it got rejected unanimously by the Democrat controlled Senate. One of the biggest problems with getting any kind of spending reforms in Washington is that to most people the federal debt is some distant issue, or worse, something that can

The following are excerpts from Dr. Paul L. Maier's book, "The Da Vinci Code: Fact or Fiction?" Foreword by Hank Hanegraaff:
"Why is The Passion excoriated and The Da Vinci Code extolled? Why are Gibson’s motives denounced and Brown’s dignified? Why is Christ’s passion referred to as a “repulsive, masochistic fantasy” and his supposed marriage to Mary Magdalene touted as a researched material fact? The answer may surprise you.

Mark Steyn is unmasking the idiot memes we're told are important by Obama's supporters:
A couple of days ago, Obama campaign top dog David Axelrod threw in the towel on the dog war. "I thought it was a little absurd to talk about what the President had done as a 10-year-old boy," he sniffed to MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell, which is as near as the suddenly sheepish attack dog will ever get to conceding that Barack Obama is the first dog-eating president in the history of the Republic. For those coming late to the feud...
