Apparently, in reaction to the reality that the youth vote is fading on Obama, a memo has gone out from the campaign to the mainstream media, Democrat operatives, Hollywood moneybags, and all the ships at sea. It’s message was succinct: “Obama Hip, Cool! Romney Square. Peace-and-Drones Out, Daddy-O.” Do an internet search of “Obama cool” this morning and there is an embarrassment of riches:

In a stunning reversal, last week the Obama administration withdrew proposed restrictions on the work children can do on farms. The Labor Department said it canned the regulations because it received thousands of comments about the ruled and its effect on small family-owned farms. But in an exclusive report by Newsbusted Anchor Jodi Miller, we learn the real reason Obama dropped the rule, he plans on heavily taxing those young farm workers to help pay down the deficit. In fact he may be preparing the campaign ad right now explaining that many of these children will grow up and go to

While our president crusades with an unrealistic plan to tax the rich to pay for his profligate spending and bring the country back to what now seems like a Capitalist pipe dream, the elusive pre-Obama economy. Obama Elites, who are almost always rich, but don’t seem to pay taxes or worry about them, agree with the old Marxist parable, “tax the rich to spread the wealth around,” at least, as long as no one dips into their private accounts. If Obama stays in power, their money is safe, that’s the way his system works. While the public frets over wether

And more specifically, on what a Catholic (or Christian) might ought to aspire to as he or she struggles with notions of sin and faithfulness and how to deal with them both. Regular readers know that Mark Shea is a regular go to guy for me. He is a person I've come to appreciate and respect when it comes to understanding and applying my recently re-embraced Catholic faith. That's not to say that I don't disagree with him on occasion and I've been open about that on these pages but I digress. Recently...

The media is back to trying to sex the President up. Despite three and a half years of governing ranging from inept, to embarrassing, to Bush-era replays, the President has been anything but cool. With another election coming up, however, the President’s friends in the media are doing whatever they can to snag the flagging youth vote by reminding young ‘uns that they can vote for the cool dude or for the guy who reminds them of their own father.

Using May Day as a backdrop Barack Obama, ironically billed as a uniter of the country has of course been the most divisive president of all time! That said, he is capable of bringing people together when the topic of conversation is... Barack Obama. It's now becoming apparent that even some of the most fervent liberals can find plenty not to like about this President and his administration...

This examination of the siren song of “theory” and its attraction for pseudo-intellectuals is one of Bill Whittle’s best efforts. He gives a brief history of the destruction blind adherence to theory has caused, and then applies it to the economic drivel preached by Paul Krugman and the increasingly ridiculous pronouncements of the Church of Warmism.

What might well be the most significant election in Middle East history is about to happen yet the situation and its implications are simply not understood abroad. On May 23-24, with a probable run-off on Jun 16-17, the most important country in the Arabic-speaking world is almost certainly going to choose a revolutionary transformation that will ensure continuous earthquakes of war, suffering, and instability for decades to come. Of the dozen candidates only three are important and the question is which of them will end up in the run-off.

On his nationally syndicated radio show on Wednesday, April 25, Republican talk show host Michael Medved gloated over the fact that Mitt Romney won a wave of primaries with no effort, hands down, with no competition. But has Romney convinced his base? Are voters enthusiastic for him? The facts don't convince.

One of President Obama's favorite movements, OWS, has plans to strike at the heart of American cities on May Day! The Presidents other favorite present-day radical movement is of course the Middle East "Arab Spring" but for today the focus will remain on May Day marches and protests around the United States. Tuesdays activities have been called a holiday for the 99% by May Day organizers and an attempt to face-off against whoever it is that they consider the "man" or 1% of the citizenry to actually be...

The daily walk to the mailbox is becoming an embarrassment of riches. My husband is not to happy when the daily books arrive, unless — as happened a few weeks ago when I was sick — he spies something that he wants to read, like When Hitler Took Austria: A Memoir of Heroic Faith by the Chancellor’s Son, which he is getting through slowly (he works so many hours!) but says he is enjoying very much. Me, I am giddy as a kid on skates to get new books that I can read and recommend, and today was a three-fer!

In his new book, “Hard Measures,” Rodriguez reveals that he led a CIA briefing of Pelosi, where the techniques being used in the interrogation of senior al-Qaeda facilitator Abu Zubaida were described in detail. Her claim that she was not told about waterboarding at that briefing, he writes, “is untrue.”

“We explained that as a result of the techniques, Abu Zubaydah was compliant and providing good intelligence. We made crystal clear that authorized techniques, including waterboarding, had by then been used on Zubaydah.” Rodriguez writes that he told Pelosi everything, adding, “We held back nothing.”

Best of the Web posts a 2004 interview in which Obama defines sin, not along traditional Christian or Muslim lines, but along self-referential lines. *** The President, when he made that statement about the measure of sin being his own values, might have had in the back of his head the unspoken qualifier that his values are "Christian." I doubt it, though, because I have found the definitive doctrine of Obama's faith. Joan Allen, in the 2000 movie The Contender, recites the doctrinal beliefs of what she calls a church based in "this very chapel of democracy." I think her

Entlitlement, taken to new lows: Free Botox and laser hair removal, free chemical peels and anti-cellulite treatments may at first seem shockingly frivolous in a country like Brazil – which, despite phenomenal economic growth in recent years that has lifted millions out of extreme poverty, still battles with diseases such as tuberculosis and dengue. But the philosophy behind the more than 220 clinics across Brazil that treat people like Penha and thousands of maids, receptionists, waitresses and others is simple...

It’s long been a dirty secret among the Warmist crowd that there needs to be serious population reduction among mankind. Like with every other Warmist “solution” to anthropogenic global warming, they want Someone Else to bear the burden for Warmist notions, which is how we hear about the “pressing need” for “family planning” programs in developing nations
