Why Does Obama Have Anti-Israel Activists On His List of Rabbi Supporters?
The Lid, by Jeff Dunetz

Earlier this week the Obama campaign announced the formation of “Rabbis For Obama," featuring over 600 rabbis from across the country and across all Jewish denominations dedicated to four more years of big government and anti-Israel policies. The campaign didn’t bother to check the list, or simply didn’t care who was on it ,because at least eight of the Rabbis on the list are members of the Rabbinical Council of The Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP)--an organization named by the Anti-Defamation League as one of the 10 most anti-Israel organizations in America (I am sure their mothers are proud).

With the selection of Mitt Romney as the Republican nominee for the office of President of the United States, a lot of attention has come to his church (and mine) – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I was asked if I would write a post that detailed the church’s welfare program. This post isn’t meant to recruit or convert people to my church. Rather, it’s to convince people that work requirements as a condition of receiving welfare or other benefits have positive results and benefit society.

When we conservatives hear the word welfare, we almost cringe. Not because

The American system of democracy is under threat. It’s under threat from an Obama campaign that seeks to polarize Americans along race and class lines. It’s under threat from a Democratic Party that seeks to pit those who pay taxes against those who don’t.

As gas prices climb back toward $4 a gallon, the Obama administration — facing a tough re-election campaign and rising Middle East tensions — is once again considering tapping the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. For years, administrations have bought and stored oil for emergencies, in fear of a cutoff of imported oil, as happened during the Arab embargo of 1973-74.

It’s no big secret in the Bookworm Room that I like romance novels. Someone I know calls them pornography. He’s both right and wrong. A large percentage of today’s romance novels have pretty explicit sex scenes scattered through the pages. The language isn’t as vulgar as true pornography, but the sex is certainly graphic enough to fall under the heading of “erotica.” It’s also dull. There are only so many ways to describe “insert tab A into slot B.”

For three years our consciousness has been bombarded with assertions from Obama, his handlers, and his justifiers, that he is pro-business, understands the private sector, and is a leader — after all did he not singlehandedly “save” General Motors and America’s auto industry? Enough with the lies already!

Now that there is an actual businessman running against him for the Oval Office rather than a pol, the President’s machine has been turning up the volume on Obama’s GM escapade. We too easily recall his preening three years ago as the media declared him the new CEO of General Motors. Today Obama

I'm not at all pleased that Mitt Romney will be the Republican nominee for President…But will I sit this election out because of the Republican's poor choice? No. Nor will I be voting for a third party candidate which, for all practical purposes, would be the same thing. Because I truly believe that another four years of President Barack Obama would be profoundly disastrous for America, the cause of justice, and the freedom of religion...

Barack Obama has become accustomed to being the center of attention. For many like him, that's one of the biggest appeals of politics, the television exposure it attracts and the power that seems to come with that instant recognition and fame. "As Advertised on TV." You don't have to be raised by grandparents because your birth parents chose to be off somewhere else for years. But when you walk into a room (snip) everyone's head turns and lips whisper and hands clap, that's a heady thing.
