While Secretary of State Hillary Clinton boozes it up in Australia and the Pentagon grapples with more floozy eruptions, outraged military families are still waiting for answers about the forgotten 9/14 attack on Camp Bastion.
We, the people of the US, are heading for a disaster of epic proportions. And when it hits, due to the US influence abroad, the world will feel the hurt at the same magnitude. Why? Fiat currency, that’s why. Combined with rapidly increasing national debt, and interest rates kept artificially low, with massive infusions of “cash” into the market place, the foundation holding up the confidence in the US dollar is starting to crumble.
"Ups and Downs of Campaign Obscure What Matters" is the title Dave Helling at the KC Star put to his latest Op/Ed, published today.
Mr. Helling´s ´pithy analysis´ is an odd mix of self-congratulation for his correct prediction about the national election, and a lament about our national polarized politics that have become, well, nationalized; the result of which sucks the air out of the room for local down-ballot issues and candidates. The ´what matters´ in his title, I think.
I believe Mr. Helling misses the larger picture about ´what matters´ in the suffocating environs

Today at 1:30 PM, President Obama has deigned to hold an honest-to-goodness, question-taking press conference. I guess the President took to heart the plaintive plea of ABC´s Jake Tapper who asked Obama not to be a stranger as the Prez exited his last presser on August 20.
