...These post-Christian Americans do not believe in Jesus. But they do believe in Santa Claus. However, the Santa Claus of their imagination doesn’t simply provide a toy or two for morally deserving kids. No, the socialist Santa Claus they believe in doesn’t make anything. He redistributes. Before he comes down the chimney to leave stuff under your holiday tree, he’s gone down Donald Trump’s chimney and filled his bag with Trump’s stuff…

You’ll remember that President Barack Obama was the only candidate with a detailed plan to deal with the impending fiscal unpleasantness. And, as the president explained this week during his first press conference since winning re-election, “more voters agreed” with him, so naturally, it’s time to give the people what they want.

The second-term curse goes like this: A president (e.g., Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, etc.) wins re-election, but then his presidency implodes over the next four years — mired in scandals or disasters such as Watergate, Iran-Contra, Monica Lewinsky, the Iraqi insurgency and Hurricane Katrina.

Over 150 terrorist rockets landed in Israeli Neighborhoods between Saturday and Wednesday when Operation Pillar of Defense began. Since the defensive action was initiated by the IDF approximately 24 hours ago another 200 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel.
One of those rockets hit a building in launched Kiryat Malachi, a community of 20,000 Israelis including many recent immigrants from the former Soviet Union and Ethiopia. The rocket killed three people and wounded others including children. While it has not been confirmed yet, I have been informed by buddy in Israel that there has been a fourth death-a

If you read this description of what Saul Alinsky was trying to do and then compare it with Barack Obama´s past and current agenda, they frighteningly seem to be one in the same. Compounding the problem is having a President who is dealing with a complicit media and a largely ignorant or blind populace that simply buys anything he is selling!

A friend of mine has a family member who has been called up for duty in Israel. I know that, all over Israel, young men and young women are being mobilized. Some sadly, may not come home, although I wish all of them would, just as I wish every one of our troops in Afghanistan could return home. As always when I think about war, I think, not about those who die, but about the many who live. My expectation that people will return home is shaped by my parents’ experiences.

We work hard, or we strive to find work while counted amongst 86 million “invisible” unemployed, or we stress as one of the Bureau of Labor Statistics 14.6% unemployed, and when rare tranches of time allow, during our otherwise consumed days, we sporadically tune into the mainstream media. The Gallup organization recently informed us that 60% of us do not trust the news media. And yet, . . . it still influences our determinations as it wishes.

My line on secession is the same as it always has been, which is that the question of whether states have a right to secede was decided during the Civil War and the answer was “No.” That being said, secession petitions have become all the rage since the election.

We, the people of the US, are heading for a disaster of epic proportions. And when it hits, due to the US influence abroad, the world will feel the hurt at the same magnitude. Why? Fiat currency, that’s why. Combined with rapidly increasing national debt, and interest rates kept artificially low, with massive infusions of “cash” into the market place, the foundation holding up the confidence in the US dollar is starting to crumble.

"Ups and Downs of Campaign Obscure What Matters" is the title Dave Helling at the KC Star put to his latest Op/Ed, published today.
Mr. Helling´s ´pithy analysis´ is an odd mix of self-congratulation for his correct prediction about the national election, and a lament about our national polarized politics that have become, well, nationalized; the result of which sucks the air out of the room for local down-ballot issues and candidates. The ´what matters´ in his title, I think.
I believe Mr. Helling misses the larger picture about ´what matters´ in the suffocating environs

Here is a heartwarming tale of your education tax dollars at work. At a recent school event at a New Jersey public university, a tax paid professor said that Joseph Stalin, the murderous head of the Soviet Union during the WWII era, never committed any crimes against humanity. "I have yet to find one crime that Stalin committed," the professor yelled at students.

Today at 1:30 PM, President Obama has deigned to hold an honest-to-goodness, question-taking press conference. I guess the President took to heart the plaintive plea of ABC´s Jake Tapper who asked Obama not to be a stranger as the Prez exited his last presser on August 20.

That quote from The Anchoress as she looks deeper into the scandal of the day:
Two months past the attack on Benghazi, which resulted in the death of an American Ambassador and three others — an attack we are told the White House watched while ordering no response; an attack the mainstream media helpfully blacked-out, at first, then allowed to be spun — we are now being served The Prestige, where all of reality is being turned on its head, and the audience isn’t even sure what it’s seeing, so it simply becomes giddy, and content to be led...

I ran across a disturbing post at the ´Uncommon Courage´ blog entitled ´The Disenfranchised Voters in Grandview (Missouri).´
What I found disturbing was the blog owner states she´s an attorney, yet the sophomoric level of ´awareness´ concerning our local election laws, ballots, and the boards which administer them didn´t strike me as observations from a post-graduate, let alone someone who passed the Missouri Bar.
But most troubling was her inflammatory ignorance about the word disenfranchised.
