On June 25 we will be celebrating the 136th anniversary of George Armstrong Custer’s philosophic victory at Little Big Horn. It’s true that George suffered a severe hair cut along with the 265 men under his command, but he certainly showed chiefs Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse that he wasn’t about to be intimidated by 10,000 Sioux. We can’t know how many people will celebrate the 136th anniversary the philosophic victory by the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International Union in 2148, none of us will be among the living by then. But I’d sure like to know.

The title of this post reflects two related pieces found in my feed reader this morning. The first, via Mark Shea, contains a note he received apparently late last week: Sadly, it appears that GU will comply with the HHS Mandate without even a fight. I spoke to Melissa in Human Resource at Gonzaga today and she confirmed December 1, 2012 Gonzaga will cover contraceptives, sterilizations and plan b drugs...

Those who know history, know that tyrants constantly ‘cleanse’ or ‘purge’ their ranks of those they perceive as disloyal to the powers that be. They rule with an iron fist and with total control, because not to is to expose their political jugular to their enemies. It truly is dog eat fascist dog. This is very true in the Obama sphere of influence and within the ranks of his court. So, in the true tradition of dumping earth shaking news before a holiday or on a Friday, the day before Thanksgiving, Obama published a memo laying out guidelines for executive

Last week a handful of jihadi terrorists that worked with Hamas were killed in Gaza by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). These terrorists were hiding among western journalists and pretending to be one of them. Sadly a few actual journalists were also killed in these pinpoint strikes, but the bigger outrage is that western journalists don´t seem to mind at all that these terrorists are using them for human shields. One has to wonder why that is?

General Electric has its eye on the future and the manufacturing giant feels the future will take the form of an "industrial Internet" that will alert both users and the manufacturers when products are breaking down or coming to the end of a life cycle. This will mean that GE will be able to fix or replace products before they even break down an idea that might curtail downtime as airplanes, trains, power generators and the like can be repaired before any actual trouble arises.
