U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice came before the American people and served up the untrue story that the attacks on our embassy in Benghazi, Libya that killed four Americans was the result of some Youtube video. This false story seems to have helped torpedo her chances of being the next Secretary of State as today Rice pulled her name out of the running for the position. But, does her pulling her name from consideration somehow "end" the Benghazi scandal? Buzzfeed thinks it does.

One story that no one seems to be talking much about is the violent attack on an African American small businessman´s hot dog vending stand perpetrated by criminal union thugs during Monday´s right-to-work fracas in Lansing, Michigan.

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice announced today that she was taking herself out of the running to be considered the next Secretary of State. To explain why she took herself out of the running, NBC´s Chuck Todd blamed it on "conservative advocacy media." To Todd, it was nothing but a right-wing witch-hunt.

Yesterday was a very sad day for our country.(snip)Our betters have already rushed to their microphones, soap boxes and pulpits to ask why we don’t have the kind of gun control they have in Norway.(snip)A lot of our problems stem from our culture:a culture of political correctness that doesn’t allow you to call dangerous crazy people “insane” let alone lock them up, doesn’t wish you to point out that terrorists may be more dangerous than conservative “haters,” and wants the good guys to give up their guns to set a good example for the bad guys.

I listened to a local administrator describe the standard procedure under lockdown conditions and I had an ill-feeling of dread. The safety measures the schools are advised to take are now well-known to the potential homicidal maniacs who walk our streets, and now, there is the opportunity to capitalize on information that should be classified.

The bodies aren´t even cold in Newtown, Conn. and already the Left is eagerly politicizing the deaths to champion more restrictive gun laws.
Our thoughts, prayers and helping hand goes out to those families and friends of the victims. I imagine these young families need help most with funeral expenses (who has life insurance on a 1st grader?). Please contact the Connecticut Salvation Army to help.
Horror and outrage is expected in the aftermath of such terror, but aside from a violently jerking knee, where should Obama lede us, exactly? First, a few headlines from this morning´s G00gle news search for ´gun

Is there any possibility, as remote as that might be, that the September 11 attack on the US embassy in Benghazi, Libya was part of some larger plan gone wrong by the Obama administration to manufacture an "October Surprise" just prior to the November election?

The Golden Globes and The Oscars are just around the corner.
And soon Hollywood will be announcing its choices for the year´s best films.
But only Hollywood insiders vote in those polls. And actual moviegoers often don´t agree with Hollywood´s choice anyway.
So now here´s YOUR chance to pick the Best Picture of the Year.

Despite being fairly decent at both sympathy and empathy, I truly cannot imagine what the survivors of the school shooting in Newton, Connecticut, are experiencing, and that’s true whether I think of the ones in the line of fire or the family and friends whose loved ones were at the school. Shooting children like fish in a barrel goes beyond crime. It is, instead, an act of profound evil.

That´s a question put forth by blogger Cylar over at Rotten Chestnuts. And it´s a good question, one with no easy answer, yet if one does ponder it, the answer does hold an explanation to our fractured secular society, and changing cultural landscape.
I read some good comments under that post which touched on ‘why are there no new Christmas songs?’ Yet most merely describe the symptoms and not the cause. I think the answer is very simple: Nobody wants them. There are cultural reasons and commercial reasons, to be sure, but why are these the reasons?

As unions again run amuck, this time in Michigan, the Old Media establishment has steadfastly refused to report on the union´s violence, not to mention the "violent rhetoric" coming from their advocates. But this is in stark contrast to the Summer of 2011 when the Old Media was hot to condemn the supposed "violent rhetoric" of Republicans such as Sarah Palin, Andrew Breitbart, and talk radio hosts.

Here’s more evidence that government “cures” are inevitably worse than the “diseases” they seek to wipe out. Buried in the trillion-dollar stimulus law of 2009 was an electronic medical records “incentive” program. Like most of President Obama’s health care rules, this top-down electronic record-sharing scheme is a big fat bust.

I know some of you are still wondering how Big Guy won his reelection.(SNIP)there is nothing–no matter how large or small, sacred or profane – that cannot be used for your political purposes. Take Hanukkah for example:
This year we celebrated the story of how Big Guy was credited with saving the victims of Hurricane Sandy from government red tape(SNIP)back in 2010, Big White officials selected a menorah salvaged from a synagogue destroyed by Hurricane Katrina–long after most people had grown weary of blaming George W. Bush for letting the chocolate people in New Orleans die.

Fr. Longenecker, in a tribute post to St. Lucy, has words that ought to speak to every Catholic:
This is exactly the temptation most American Catholics face: the temptation to marry the ways of the world–to make our real commitment to wealth, comfort, security and pleasure. Then we plan to practice our religion secretly on the side. The temptation is to take the easy way out, not to make a fuss, not to stand up and be martyrs, but to go with the flow and fit in...

Why do the polling numbers on the fiscal cliff negotiations seem to favor the President and the Democrat Party? Because they tell the people what they want to hear day in and day out while the Republicans message is not delivered well and it gets buried by the mainstream media.
