Don´t these congressional idiots know we have a budget deficit problem. Obama´s $60.4 billion dollar hurricane Sandy aid request is chock full of pork.
According to the New York Post, the Sandy relief plan includes more than $8 million to buy cars and equipment for the Homeland Security and Justice departments. Plus $150 million for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to dole out to fisheries in Alaska and $2 million for the Smithsonian Institution to repair museum roofs in DC. There is also $13 billion would go to “mitigation” projects to prepare for future storms.

So here’s the challenge for gun control advocates: explain why you failed the people of Newtown. You cited Connecticut as a national example. You said its laws “reduce risks to children.” You gave no state a higher rating for keeping guns out of public places — like schools.
And a criminally insane man stole legally-owned guns (owned under Connecticut’s regime) after being denied their legal purchase, broke in through a window, and killed children and adults — adults who were not armed to shoot back, and so died unable to save the children who also died.

Question: What could anyone do to protect the lives of innocents in a situation like the Newtown CT shooting?
Answer: Allow & encourage responsible, trained adults to carry handguns. One well-placed shot could have eliminated the shooter before a single child was harmed. Even better, the knowledge that there are armed, serious adults standing between a killer and and those he hopes to kill provides some deterrent to even the most criminally insane murderer.

Newtown is not 15 miles from where we live. A teacher we know taught at Sandy Hook school but now teaches at the middle school. One of his students lost a sibling. My wife’s sister’s father in law was Principal at the school for some time. He is devastated but is intent on helping restore the school.
Sadness pervades the air in the state. It is the same sense of loss we felt in the aftermath of 9-11. I have been trying to organize intelligible something to write- and I am not sure I yet have.

A fascinating article written in light of the tragic shooting in Newtown, Ct. by an author who has lived with Asperger´s Syndrome and who states that it was not Asperger´s that caused Adam Lanza to do what he did. According to the author, "Because so many have endured so much worse and not become monsters, a man with autism who reveals himself to be a monster would have been one even without it."

My heart is sick. I feel so sorry for the children who were murdered, as well as the parents and loved ones of the slain kids and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. All of us here in the U.S.—who still have a soul—pray for those whose lives were just senselessly shattered.

Could the combination of a Nostradamus prophecy, the end of the Mayan Calendar and the Psy video Gangnam Style reaching 1,000,000,000 views signal the end of the world on December 21?
