Fortunately it has now subsided into feeble simmering, but many feared that the early 2011 eruption of outrage in the Pine Tree State might evolve into something like the bloody 1835-1843 Dismailian Mural Wars.
For those unfamiliar with history of the nineteenth century tragedy, the circumstances were as follows. In April 1835 the Grand Vizier of the Sultanate of Lower Dismailia happened to be visiting the Ministry of Marital Felicity when he spied a mural which appeared to incorporate seventeen images of his most annoying ex-wives. Incensed, he ordered its immediate removal.

We have devolved into to a point in the gun rights argument that we’re reverting back to the very thing from which we sought independence. The Declaration of Independence lists several grievances that led to the Revolutionary War.
... Today’s progressive movement has sought to turn the 2nd Amendment’s meaning into something it isn’t. Our lofty politicians – protected with their throngs of security guards, armored vehicles, and other protections – and their lapdog media have succeeded at convincing the “low information voters,” as Rush Limbaugh likes to say, that this right is meant to apply to hunters only. In the wake of the Sandy Hook shooting, the Associated Press is again fearmongering over the idea of a "printable" gun. That would be a gun manufactured using a 3-D printer that prints in plastics instead of ink. Of course, this story is consistently misreported as no gun can be made in such a fashion, but the Old Media keeps regurgitating this claim anyway in order to push an anti-gun agenda.

It´s been a great week for yours truly.
Friday morning I heard that word (Dismissed!) in traffic court, a word coming from the lips of the judge presiding over whether or not I had failed to yield the right of way back in mid-November to an oncoming vehicle as I made a left turn in front of it.
I won´t bore you with the details or how I felt sorry for the cop who was having a seriously bad day in court. All I know is I walked out of that courtroom feeling much lighter than I did when walking in.

The Occupy Movement, as we all know, was and is a tool of the elite. Skilled in projection and deflection, they screamed that big business was the enemy of the people and Marxism was the cure. No sane American would fall for that tripe. What the lame movement, if they had been honest, would have railed against was big business in collusion with big government. A marriage made in hell and brought to you by Barack Obama and the bourgeois socialists.

And therein lays the importance of an armed society. If the sheepdogs are free to roam and protect the pack, they will. It will be impossible to really track their effectiveness, as they will do their job quietly, efficiently and effectively. But the mass killers will find opposition, and will be unable to carry out whatever evil they have planned without interference. The liberals can point at gun control all they want, but more laws aren’t the fix. Let’s hope sanity prevails.

In a year-end review of the US economy this article contains 75 economic statistics that point to the fact that conditions in the US are deteriorating rather than improving. To add insult to injury, the country faces four more years of the same leadership that helped to put us in the financial hole that we find ourselves in! And the final absurdity is that facing an economic crisis the POTUS and members of Congress left town for vacation!

Of course, one obvious and significant part of our violent culture was left untouched by these dopes.
Movies. Hollywood.
Hollywood has contributed mightily to the decay of American culture. We used to have White Christmas, now we have Reservoir Dogs. We used to have Mary Poppins. Now we have Kill Bill. Hollywood has coarsened our culture. It has desensitized kids to senseless murder and senseless violence.

The execrable Andrew Sullivan is proud of Hagel, especially because Hagel’s mea culpa wasn’t accompanied by a companion mea culpa to the Jews and the State of Israel, as to both of which Hagel has directed a boatload of smears, insults, and threats.

If you are like me you woke up one day and the "holiday season" Christmas and New Year´s became a trio, with the addition of something called Kwanzaa. Oh sure there were rumblings of a new holiday, but who would have thought that something invented by a Black separatist group in 1966 will now be considered by some in this overly politically correct world as a holiday on par with something like Christmas or New Years.
The man who created the holiday, Maulana Karenga was a convicted violent felon. In 1971 Karenga was convicted of torturing two women who were members

National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre spoke to reporters today about the horror of Sandy Hook, and the hypocrisy of the media and politicians, an indictment of Hollywood and the video game industry and offered the NRA´s suggestion for ending school violence-properly trained armed good guys at each school across America.
Disappointingly even Fox News didn´t cover his entire speech, perhaps because they have been accused of not covering the heightened gun control debate (according to the leftist pundits), or perhaps their ownership of 20th Century Fox.

Every year I post a piece on the troubled truth about Kwanzaa. This year will be no exception. Note that some of the newspaper articles I quote are several years old and may no longer be online. Each year, with the onset of Christmas, we are treated to another gauzy, fluff piece about how great Kwanzaa is by yet another PC spewing columnist. This year, among many others, we find aggrandizement such as that in The Telegraph from Macon, Georgia with, "Annual Kwanzaa celebrations highlight arts, community and history," and the Dallas Morning News with its titled, "Look forward to
