Mark Shea here is hugely poignant, largely on point, immensely relevant:
I have a confession. I need to come out of the closet.
I am Jolly. I can’t help it. I was just born that way. And I am no longer ashamed!
I can’t remember when I first felt Jolly. Maybe it was when I was eating that second bowl of ice cream and watching The Flying Nun when I was eight...

Some might ask what doesn´t anger feminists these days, but what follows seems particularly silly:
My 4-year-old son, Emmett, swallows a spoonful of cereal and asks me if I know what a gentleman is. Surprised, I tell him I have some idea; then I ask what the word means to him.
“A gentleman lets girls go first,” he says, explaining that every day at naptime all the girls go to the bathroom before the boys.
His explanation, along with the quiet solemnity with which he delivers it, is completely endearing and yet it makes my heart ache...

Now that the last streamer from Inauguration Day 2013 has been thrown, it is now time for Barack Obama to do what he failed to do in his first term which is to focus on national security.
That means instead of empty rhetoric and following the lead of the UN Security Council the President needs to follow his own 2008 advice which was ´If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.´

Over the weekend we attended a fun (and funny!) inauguration party at the beautiful new home of Larry and Shelly Beaser just a few blocks from Independence Hall in Philadelphia.
The Beasers have been hosting these quadrennial gatherings as long as anyone can remember and the party goes on no matter who has won the White House, Democrats or Republicans.
Each time the party and accompanying food and drink are

If you did not already know that the President has no grasp of history, no knowledge of what he is saying, this should help confirm it.
According to the transcript released by the White House, President Obama channeled Neville Chamberlain, using the phrase "peace in our time" to tout his reelection.

Data clearly show that stricter gun laws lead to more crime but that is of no consequence. President Obama and the rest of the progressives who want to pass gun laws that will magically make the world a safer place… as if there were no knives, swords, cars or anything else that might ever be used as a weapon.
Maybe they forgot about Prohibition? It doesn’t take much looking to see the negative consequences of that. Not only did it not work, but it created a paradise for gangsters to grow rich and powerful. Fast forward 80 years and while smoking

With polls showing that our Second Amendment is still nearly as popular as ever, one is tempted to think that our guns are safe, for now. A new poll, for instance, even shows that the National Rifle Association is more popular than Hollywood.

Remember this? Sarah Palin dared to wear expensive clothing while on the 2008 campaign trail, she was excoriated:
This is not careless image management.
This is ill-advised and ill-informed.
Or, to use this election cycle´s phrase of choice: This is some seriously bad judgment.
One assumes that her campaign is populated by some of the brightest minds and they have spent an inordinate amount of time obsessing over mind-numbing details, right down to whether the candidate would stand or sit during the debate and who gets to hover behind her for photo ops. But Palin´s handlers would do well to

Peggy Noonan has a good, insightful column this week touching on how very hostile our president seems to be toward about half the country [Snip) This is the narrative for the next four years: the president as visionary and victim. Obama will attempt to utterly solidify that image on his inaugural day when he takes the oath of office, while using not one but two bibles — because if a little symbolism is good, a little more is better.

Not everyone is into political issues, or keeps up with them, and my husband has a limited attention span for news articles on issues that have promised “nothing new” for the last few decades. For that reason, and although he is strongly pro-life, articles touching on the issue rarely get his attention: there’s a lot of yelling on all sides, but few if any saying anything new.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is helping to change that, by saying something new, extreme, and rather shocking, and by trying to codify his new words into law. Deacon Greg Kandra sums it up

OK Folks its time to hide your money, the progressives are coming and they want everything you have. If you think the two trillion of new taxes (between Obamacare and fiscal cliff deal) are the end "forgettaboutit" says NY Senator, the self-serving Chuck Schumer.
NY´s Senior Senator was on NBC’s “Meet the Press" reporting that the Senate democrats are looking forward to creating a budget (the first in four years) and it will include significantly higher taxes.

Martin Luther King whose life and dream we celebrate today was a great leader for civil rights. Unlike today´s "Civil Rights" leaders who seek divisiveness and handouts, Dr. King dream was a post racial society where people where judged by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.
Also unlike most "Civil Rights" leaders today Dr. King was a supporter of Israel and the Jewish people. In recognition of MLK day many Jewish will post a letter supposedly penned by Martin Luther King called "Letter to a Zionist Friend," it is a hoax

When I saw the headline on ESPN SportCenter that read tennis star Novak Djokovic tested my first thought was that he may have failed a drug test.
Given the state of sports and some of the recent stories involving cheating and lying, if true it certainly wouldn´t have come as any big surprise!
