A lifelong master of subterfuge, lies and fraud, Hammer portrayed himself as a friend of kings and mankind in general, the essential traits of a Marxist overlord who loves the faceless masses [for the far-reaching power they can provide him) and loathes people. By all objective accounts a murderous opportunist with an insatiable drive for power and influence. Ultimately, he was a failure, dying in deep debt, the scary facts of his thoroughly corrupt, plundering life laid bare.

Hell of a title for a post isn´t it?
Of course, those aren´t my words. My words are usually rather inadequate, inarticulate, ineffective I think in getting across the point and so more often than not, I turn to others who I think make the point I´d like to make better than I can make it.
A few days ago, I expressed my frustration with folks who seem complacent about pursuing and exercising their faith.
Today, I find Fr. Longenecker dealing directly with that complacency in what I consider to be an excellent piece...

In the next leg of President Obama´s perpetual campaign, he and Vice President Biden plan to hit the road and tour the country pushing their new gun ban ideas as the political season heats up. Just ahead of inauguration day, VP Biden finished chairing his special Commission on Gun Violence and now he plans to appear in Richmond, Virginia before an organized anti-gun audience to campaign for his "gun violence" recommendations.

On the January 23 broadcast of Fox News´ "Bill O´Reilly Show," liberal commentator Kirsten Powers found herself agreeing with the concept that liberals are less tolerant of opposing opinions. Powers went further, though, positing that this intolerance might stem from the fact that liberals are too used to controlling the media and not being confronted by opposition.

It is more than likely going nowhere. Senate Majority leader Harry Reid, himself a supporter of 2nd Amendment rights (hey, one good mark for him), may not even bring it up for a vote, instead allowing it to languish in committee. And, if he does bring it up, he may not have the votes. And, if it somehow manages to pass, it’ll die in the House. That doesn’t matter to DiFi, who’s intent on adding massive restrictions to the guns law abiding citizens can own
